Our Story
Iman has been in education for more than two decades, teaching and leading both at university and K-12 levels. Although he didn’t have a name for it, Iman was always aware of executive functions. The term executive functions, however, became an integral part of his teaching vocabulary when he shifted to K-12 education about a decade ago. When he began to coach executive functions private sessions, he adopted an interest in researching the topic. But he was soon disappointed to see most of the popular literature in the field offered generic, one-size-fits-all tools and strategies to deal with executive functions challenges in adults and children.
Iman knew immediately that the key to successfully diagnosing the root causes of executive functions challenges and offering solutions to address them is through implementing a holistic approach. Equipped with decades of experience in the field of education, he also understood that enhancing executive functions and productivity would require an individual to be self-aware and willing to embrace a growth mindset.
Iman didn’t stop there. Utilizing his extensive academic research background, he studied the topic more and was soon drawn to educational neuroscience. After all, executive functions are brain-based skillsets! Combining the fundamental understanding of how the brain works with the science of creativity and creative teaching, Iman was able to create a holistic, brain-based approach to accurately identify the root cause of executive functions challenges and offer individualized, creative solutions to tackle them.
Frustrated by how most existing executive functions and productivity coaching models only scratch the surface, Iman founded XQ Focus in 2016 and has since reached hundreds of clients by supporting them to be more productive, motivated, and successful in their careers educations, and personal lives.
